The system was developed for the 2.0 TFSI K04 engine, improving airflow to the turbocharger, sharpening throttle response and producing a more pronounced intake sound under load.<\/p>\n<p>The factory airbox is one of the main restrictions on these vehicles, particularly after an engine control unit (ECU) tune that controls fuel delivery and boost pressure. The kit provides the turbocharger with cool, dense air, helping to improve operation and performance throughout the rev range.<\/p>\n<h4>Effect on the vehicle<\/h4>\n<p>The intake system was developed on Racingline Volkswagen Racing competition vehicles. Measurements show up to 9% greater airflow at peak power compared with the factory system. It provides a good balance between high airflow and effective filtration, protecting the engine while allowing an unrestricted air supply. Each filter is handmade in the United Kingdom and, when cleaned and re-oiled at service intervals, is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<h4>Build quality and design<\/h4>\n<p>The filter is housed in a fully enclosed, black anodised aluminium housing. The housing protects the filter from hot air under the bonnet while also acting as a ram-air intake system, directing cool air from the front of the vehicle directly to the turbocharger. The enclosed design also controls the intake volume, making the sound more pronounced when the throttle is opened while remaining unobtrusive at a steady speed.<\/p>\n<h4>Compatibility<\/h4>\n<p>The intake system (VWR12L0CR) is intended for the SEAT Leon Mk2 Cupra and Cupra R with the 2.0 TFSI K04 engine.
