The Racingline magnetic drain and fill plug kit is designed for Volkswagen Group vehicles with Haldex all-wheel drive. During an oil service, the magnetic drain plug traps harmful metal particles from the differential or final drive.<\/p>\n
The gears in the differential and final drive are constantly in contact under load. During more demanding driving and with higher vehicle performance, fine ferrous particles can build up in the oil. If they remain in circulation, they can accelerate wear to the bearings and gear surfaces. The magnetic plug keeps them away from moving components until the next oil change.<\/p>\n
The required number of kits depends on the Haldex system generation:<\/p>\n
Haldex generation 5 (MQB vehicles with all-wheel drive):<\/strong> 2 kits per vehicle<\/strong> are required \u2013 one for the front final drive and one for the rear differential final drive.<\/p>\n Haldex generation 4:<\/strong> 1 kit per vehicle<\/strong> is required for the rear differential final drive.<\/p>\n Haldex generation 2:<\/strong> 1 kit per vehicle<\/strong> is required for the rear differential final drive.<\/p>\n No special preparation is required. At the next differential or final-drive oil service, remove the original plugs and install the Racingline magnetic drain plug and non-magnetic fill plug using the supplied sealing washers.
