They are a cost-effective upgrade that improves driving characteristics without installing a complete coilover kit.<\/p>\n<p>Factory springs are a compromise between comfort and everyday usability, so estates often retain a larger gap between the tyre and wheel arch, while the feel during dynamic driving can be somewhat soft. Racingline lowering springs lower the centre of gravity, limit body roll and give the vehicle a firmer, more purposeful appearance.<\/p>\n<h4>Spring operation<\/h4>\n<p>The springs are shorter and have a progressive spring rate. This means that their stiffness through the middle of the stroke is similar to the standard setup, keeping everyday driving balanced, while under heavy braking, rapid changes of direction and dynamic driving the springs become firmer.
