By connecting the rear strut towers with a rigid carbon fibre connecting bar, it stiffens the rear of the vehicle, allowing the suspension to work more effectively during dynamic driving.<\/p>\n<h4>Why the Polo needs a rear body brace<\/h4>\n<p>Modern cars such as the Polo AW have a laser-welded body that is particularly stiff at the front, especially between the upper mounting points of the front suspension. The rear section of the chassis is usually more prone to flexing. During fast driving, especially with stiffer sports suspension, this can cause the rear suspension geometry to move under load, a less direct vehicle response and reduced grip.<\/p>\n<p>For a similar reason, Volkswagen fitted a factory rear brace to the more focused Golf Clubsport S. The Racingline Rear Body Brace brings the same principle to the Polo GTI and connects key mounting points of the rear chassis so that the suspension can operate more predictably.<\/p>\n<h4>Design and construction<\/h4>\n<p>The brace consists of two substantial brackets made from machined aluminium, connected by an exceptionally rigid carbon fibre bar. Carbon fibre offers an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio, so the brace substantially increases stiffness without a noticeable addition of weight at the rear of the vehicle. The visible design also has a clean and sporty appearance.<\/p>\n<h4>Effect on driving<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Sharper turn-in and a more consistent response from the rear end when cornering at speed<\/li>\n<li>Improved control of the suspension geometry, helping the tyres maintain correct contact with the road<\/li>\n<li>A more connected and stable feel during rapid changes of direction<\/li>\n<li>No additional noise, vibration or harshness in the passenger compartment<\/li>\n<li>No reduction in ride comfort, even with stiffer sports suspension fitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The difference is most noticeable during dynamic driving or on the racetrack, but the brace also contributes to a firmer and more composed feel during everyday use.<\/p>\n<h4>Installation<\/h4>\n<p>The brace is secured to the existing body mounting points at the rear of the vehicle. Installation requires no drilling or removal of interior trim and can be fully reversed.<\/p>\n<p>The entire rear interior can be retained.
