As a result, it is not designed for boost pressures higher than factory levels. CTS Turbo experienced this weakness in practice and developed its own solution.<\/p>\n<p>The intercooler is a direct upgrade and replacement for the factory plastic part. The engineers based it on the factory part, which they measured using an in-house CMM measuring system and scanned with a 3D scanner. They then created a working model and optimised it using CAD software.<\/p>\n<p>The intercooler\u2019s proprietary cast aluminium end tanks feature flow-directing fins at the inlet and outlet, ensuring the most even airflow possible and more efficient cooling. The centre section features a high-density bar-and-plate core with two passes (dual pass), covered at the top by a plate with the CTS logo. CNC-machined connections, stainless steel Helicoil threaded inserts at the mounting points, high-quality mounting hardware and silicone connecting hoses are included.
