If the valve does not open or release pressure, a weaker spring may need to be fitted. Fitting a stronger spring to the valve will not increase boost pressure unless it was being lost beforehand. A spring that is too strong and prevents the valve from operating correctly can damage the turbocharger.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Red-marked springs must not be fitted to DVR or DV007 diaphragm valves.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spring colour coding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Green:<\/strong> 5\u201315 PSI (0.35\u20131.03 bar)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Yellow:<\/strong> 15\u201323 PSI (1.03\u20131.59 bar)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Blue:<\/strong> 23\u201330 PSI (1.59\u20132.07 bar)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Red:<\/strong> 30+ PSI (2.07 bar+)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>The stated values are approximate only and should be used as a guide.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> choosing the wrong spring for the requirements of a particular engine can cause serious or fatal damage to the engine and related components.
