Fits an intercooler with part number 28270-2B710.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to the position of the original valve, space is very limited, as it fills the gap between the upper part of the intercooler and the underside of the upper front-end crossmember. Forge Motorsport\u2019s solution is to replace the original recirculation plate with a special sandwich plate, creating enough space to install the FMDV42 valve and enabling the characteristic sound of discharged boost pressure.<\/p>\n

Forge\u2019s direct replacement<\/strong> dump valve is designed as a more durable and higher-performance alternative to the original valve. The original valve is adequate for a certain period at standard boost pressure, but after increasing the pressure and with prolonged use it no longer provides sufficient performance. Higher boost pressure can quickly exceed the capacity of the original spring, which must keep the valve closed at higher pressure. As the spring in the original valve cannot be replaced, it cannot be adjusted for higher boost pressures. The higher temperature caused by increased boost pressure can also quickly damage the rubber diaphragm of the original valve, which loses strength due to repeated flexing.<\/p>\n

The Forge valve is made from solid billet aluminium<\/strong> and uses Viton silicone sealing rings, which are suitable for the highest boost pressures and repeated loads. The valve is adjustable for different boost pressures using the included spring kit. It is also fully rebuildable<\/strong>; servicing the valve every 3 years or 20,000 miles is recommended.<\/p>\n
