For modified vehicles and higher boost pressure, a stronger spring can be used on request. A piston-sealed design is also available, providing comparable performance and requiring less maintenance due to the durability of its internal piston components.<\/p>\n<p>On engines where boost pressure is controlled by the ECU and solenoid valves, the specified mechanical spring specification does not mean that its value must be equal to the target boost pressure.
