The Forge Motorsport FMINDK47 is a carbon fibre induction system designed for the Audi RS3 8V and 8Y, RSQ3 and TT RS 8S. It fits all four vehicle variants with either left- or right-hand drive.<\/p>\n
To maintain low intake air temperatures, the system uses the original air feed, which delivers air into a dedicated heat shield. This fits against the underside of the bonnet. The opening on the side facing away from the engine provides an additional indirect air feed on vehicles with heavily modified engines, including Stage 3+.<\/p>\n
The standard aluminium turbo elbow has a 3-inch inlet that tapers towards the cold side of the turbocharger. Forge Motorsport offers an upgraded silicone turbo intake elbow and FMINLH9 turbo intake hose adapter, increasing the inlet surface area and volume to 3.5 inches. This is the largest version that can be fitted to right-hand-drive vehicles due to limited space around the brake master cylinder. 4-inch versions are also available for left-hand-drive vehicles.<\/p>\n
FMINDK47 includes modular couplers, making it compatible with different sizes of turbo intake hoses. The machined end of the carbon fibre induction system has a 4-inch (102 mm) diameter threaded aluminium block fitting where it connects to the elbow, expanding towards the filter side to a large 6-inch pleated filter. Interchangeable adapters allow use with standard or upgraded silicone or aluminium turbo intake solutions.<\/p>\n
Important:<\/strong> if your vehicle has the same configuration as shown in the supplier\u2019s reference image, FMBH8 adapter is required to install the FMINDK47 system.<\/p>\n Development involved SolidWorks CAD models, 3D-printed prototypes, flow simulations and numerous dynamometer measurements. The system was tested on EA855 EVO engines with the DAZA and DNWA codes and is also intended for vehicles with Stage 1, Stage 2 and higher upgrades.<\/p>\n On a vehicle with standard software, a maximum gain of 6 BHP was measured, with peak power reached 200 rpm earlier \u2014 at 6,097 instead of 6,298 rpm. At 3,000 rpm, a gain of 25 BHP was measured, while at 4,500 rpm the gain was 17 BHP. Maximum torque increased by 17 Nm and was reached approximately 100 rpm earlier; at 3,000 rpm, a gain of 55 Nm was measured, while at 4,500 rpm the gain was 23 Nm.<\/p>\n On vehicles already using FMINLH9 and FMINT33, the additional airflow from the FMINDK47 system may activate the torque limiter earlier with standard software. An appropriate engine software adjustment is therefore required to make full use of the potential of these upgrades.<\/p>\n The kit is supplied with everything required for installation and colour instructions.
