These loads are caused by the transfer of the vehicle\u2019s mass.<\/p>\n<p>When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause significant twisting and deformation of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis twisting and deformation when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
