Particularly high loads occur due to the transfer of the body\u2019s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This can lead to significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis deformation and flexing during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
