During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the chassis is subjected to high loads caused by the transfer of the vehicle body\u2019s mass.<\/p>\n<p>When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater deformation and chassis flex, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
