It is particularly stressed when the vehicle\u2019s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more load than the other. This causes considerable chassis flex, or deformation and torsional twisting of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
