High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of the body\u2019s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>During fast cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This causes the chassis to bend, twist and undergo torsional deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
