During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the chassis is subjected to significant loads caused by the transfer of the body\u2019s weight.<\/p>\n<p>When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in twisting and deformation of the body or chassis, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis twisting in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
