This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to <strong>3 times greater<\/strong> than the other. This results in greater twisting and bending of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.<\/p>\n<p>Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
