This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body\u2019s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. The result is significant loads on the bodywork, causing it to bend and twist and consequently reducing tyre grip.<\/p>\n<p>Bending and twisting of the bodywork while cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
