This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>When weight is transferred in corners, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes considerable chassis flex or deformation and torsional twisting of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.<\/p>\n<p>Chassis deformation and flexing while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
