The chassis is particularly stressed during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, when the vehicle\u2019s weight is transferred between the wheels.<\/p>\n<p>When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can cause increased chassis or body flex and consequently reduce tyre grip.<\/p>\n<p>Excessive body flex when driving through a corner can affect vehicle handling and contribute to understeer and oversteer.
