This loss is even more noticeable in tuned vehicles because of the higher boost pressure. Fitting the GFB DV+\/VTA closes this \u00bbgap\u00ab in the charge-air system, noticeably improving throttle response and boost retention. The turbocharger is also protected because it no longer has to work \u00bbagainst\u00ab a leak in the charge-air system.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the familiar \u00bbwhoosh\u00ab sound is produced during gear changes by venting excess charge air to the atmosphere. Other manufacturers offer a simple spacer to create a Blow Off sound, fitted beneath the original valve. Although it produces a Blow Off sound, it does not solve the problem of the leaking original valve.
