This EGO-X exhaust system for the BMW F32 435i\/440i and F36 440i Gran Coup\u00e9 is hand-finished using TIG welding and comprises absorption silencers without chambers. Note:<\/strong> On the 4.35i, part of the OEM exhaust system must be reused and cut. This is the approximately 50 cm section containing the oval flex pipe. The OEM oval pipe has an 83 mm connection diameter where our adaptor is fitted. Producing the system from the downpipe in 89 mm is not possible on the 35i models because of the position of the OEM downpipe; this would require that section to be made in 76 mm. That would create an 8 mm smaller cross-section than standard and therefore a restriction. As the exhaust systems are designed for the maximum possible performance increase, this is the only feasible solution.<\/p>\n Note:<\/strong> On vehicles with an OPF, the petrol particulate filter is located underneath the vehicle and integrated into the OEM exhaust system. The OEM exhaust system must first be cut behind the OPF, after which the EGO-X exhaust system is fitted at the cut point using the adaptor pipe and a clamp. On some production versions of the OEM BMW exhaust system, the pipes were made completely oval, making clamp installation impossible. In this case, the adaptor pipe must be welded (approximately 15\u201320 minutes of work).<\/p>\n Note:<\/strong> Not suitable for vehicles with a tow bar.<\/p>\n Road use:<\/strong> ECE approval applies only to the combination with the option \u201cBull-X Tronic control unit (with ECE approval)\u201d and the appropriate EG catalytic converter. This combination is intended for use on public roads. Versions with other control systems and\/or catalytic converters are intended exclusively for racing use.<\/p>\n With the ECE-approved version, Comfort and Sport modes are available. If the vehicle has drive-profile selection, the system can be controlled through this function. Vehicles without drive-profile selection use the supplied button. Its LED indicates the valve status: light off means the valve is open, while light on means it is closed.<\/p>\n Versions with valve control via switch, remote control or the Bull-X Tronic \u201cRace\u201d CAN-bus control unit can also be controlled through the drive-profile selection if the vehicle has this function. Vehicles without it use the supplied button, whose LED indicates the valve status.
