The original mounts can wear out quickly and the larger pipe diameter may otherwise cause contact and unwanted noise.<\/p>\n<h3>Catalytic converter information<\/h3>\n<p>When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100- or 200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may register a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect driving, as the first lambda sensor remains in place for engine management, while the post-catalytic-converter sensor monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software.<\/p>\n<p>Most vehicles up to Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor, allowing fitment without further adaptation or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a significantly higher washcoat content and very high oxygen storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this issue up to Euro 4; their durability and use are provided for vehicles up to Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5\/6 vehicles, these issues can only be avoided by selecting an ECE-approved catalytic converter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Road use:<\/strong> Only the version with the 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter with ECE approval is approved for use on public roads.
