The Bull-X stainless steel downpipe for the McLaren 570S is one such product. The downpipe\u2019s greater flow capacity delivers increased power, improved throttle response, lower exhaust gas temperatures and a sportier exhaust note. For legal use on public roads, only the version with the EG\/ECE-approved 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter is suitable.<\/p>\n<h3>Catalytic converter information<\/h3>\n<p>When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100- or 200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may display a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect driving performance, as the first lambda sensor required for engine management remains in place. The post-catalytic-converter sensor is used only to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software through a specialist engine software tuner.<\/p>\n<p>On most vehicles up to Euro 3 emissions standard, no post-catalytic-converter sensor is fitted, so installation is possible without further adaptation or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a significantly higher washcoat content and provide very high oxygen storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this application up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are also suitable up to Euro 6 emissions standard.
