This 2.5-inch stainless steel downpipe is designed for all front-wheel-drive VAG models with 1.4 TSI\/TFSI turbocharged engines. It is not suitable for vehicles with combined turbocharger and supercharger charging.<\/p>\n<p>The downpipe is suitable for both standard and modified vehicles. Fitting can provide increased performance, sharper throttle response and lower exhaust gas temperatures, which also reduces the load on the turbocharger.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend using our multi-layer metal gasket with a 63 mm internal diameter, as the original gasket has an internal diameter of only 57 mm. Before ordering, check whether the underside of your original part has a 2-hole flange and whether it is a one-piece or two-piece design. If the underside of the original catalytic converter does not have a 2-hole flange or is a one-piece design, this downpipe cannot be fitted.<\/p>\n<h3>Technical details<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Pipe diameter: 63.5 mm<\/li>\n<li>Available with a catalytic converter replacement pipe, a 100-cell or 200-cell sports catalytic converter, or a 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter with ECE approval<\/li>\n<li>TIG (WIG) welded downpipe<\/li>\n<li>Material: stainless steel<\/li>\n<li>Adapter for the original exhaust system included<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Road use:<\/strong> The version with the 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter has ECE approval for road use. Versions with a catalytic converter replacement pipe or 100-cell or 200-cell sports catalytic converters without ECE approval are intended for track use only.<\/p>\n<h3>Catalytic converter information<\/h3>\n<p>When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100-cell or 200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may register a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect vehicle operation, as the first lambda sensor required for engine management remains in place. The post-catalytic-converter sensor is only used to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software through a specialist engine management tuner.<\/p>\n<p>Most vehicles meeting the Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor, so fitting is possible without further adjustment or a fault indication. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher washcoat content and very high oxygen storage capacity, which can prevent fault indications. For this purpose, EOBD catalytic converters have been tested up to the Euro 4 emissions standard.
