Reduced back pressure, which relieves the turbocharger, together with cooler charge air, which increases the oxygen content in the combustion chamber and reduces thermal load, creates a performance upgrade that efficiently utilises the potential of any turbocharged engine.<\/p>\n<p>When tuning a vehicle\u2019s hardware or software, charge-pressure loss must not be overlooked. If the vehicle\u2019s power is increased through chip tuning, charge pressure will also increase in 99% of cases. Using the standard intercooler causes charge-pressure loss to rise exponentially. The turbocharger must then work harder, increasing its thermal load and reducing its service life, while higher rotational speeds accelerate wear.
