Reducing back pressure, which relieves the turbocharger, and cooling the charge air, which increases the oxygen content in the combustion chamber and reduces thermal load, allows the potential of any turbocharged engine to be used efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>When carrying out hardware or software tuning, charge-pressure loss must not be overlooked. Increasing a vehicle\u2019s power through chip tuning also increases charge pressure in 99% of cases. Using the standard intercooler causes charge-pressure loss to rise exponentially. This means that the turbocharger has to work harder and its thermal load increases, reducing its service life; high rotational speeds also accelerate turbocharger wear.
