The HF-Series oil catch can kit helps improve engine performance and longevity. Despite diverting oil and water vapour into the catch can, emissions values (Euro emissions standard) remain compliant. Fitting the system also helps to achieve cleaner combustion.<\/p>\n<p>Normally, oil and water vapour is routed into the intake manifold, where, after entering the combustion chamber, it is ignited and expelled together with the fuel-air mixture. Due to the direct-injection system used by TSI engines, the cylinder heads and valves are no longer washed with fuel. This means that the fuel previously used for cleaning is missing, as it is injected directly into the combustion chamber.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, deposits caused by exhaust-gas recirculation combined with oil and water vapour from the crankcase ventilation build up extensively. These deposits accumulate in the ports of the cylinder heads and on the valves. They make the material surface rough, restrict the air-flow cross-sections and prevent optimum air turbulence and cylinder filling.<\/p>\n<p>The consequences are poorer emissions, loss of performance and increased fuel consumption. At an advanced stage, the deposits can also interfere with the valve train, meaning that the valves may no longer close fully. This results in a loss of compression in the affected cylinders and causes misfires. In the worst case, engine damage may occur. The HF-Series oil catch can kit effectively resolves this problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The catch can system is also compatible with the OEM intake and engine cover. The factory-fitted pipe to the sound amplifier must be removed. It cannot be fitted together with the standard sound amplifier.
