The temperature sensors and differential pressure sensors must be disabled in the software. The downpipe is supplied without connections for these sensors to avoid unnecessary costs. With the corresponding software solution, the differential pressure sensors remain installed in the vehicle and are simply connected in a loop: both sensor hoses are joined together, as the tolerance value is altered in the software.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Catalytic converter information:<\/strong> When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100- or 200-cell catalytic converter, the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor may trigger a fault in the ECU. This does not affect driving, as the first lambda sensor remains installed for engine control; the post-cat sensor only monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by software calibration.<\/p>\n<p>On most vehicles up to Euro 3 emissions standard, no post-cat lambda sensor is fitted, allowing installation without further calibration or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher active coating content and very high oxygen storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are assured up to Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5\/6 vehicles, the above issues can only be avoided by selecting an ECE catalytic converter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Road use:<\/strong> Only the version with an EG-approved HJS catalytic converter is approved for public-road use.
