ACL Race main bearings for Ford Cosworth YB / L3-VDT

ACL Race Series main bearings feature a trimetal construction designed for the demands of high RPM operation. The combination of design, metallurgy and engineering provides reliable support for the crankshaft.

The design is intended to maintain consistent clearances, improve heat transfer through the bearing and provide secure retention in the housing. The set includes main bearings.

• High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties
• Increased crush for improved bearing retention in the housing
• Flash plating eliminated from the back to improve heat transfer and maximize grip between the bearing and housing
• Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assist in forming hydrodynamic oil films
• 3/4-grooved main bearings to optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the conrod bearings
• Tight, consistent wall tolerances to help maintain consistent clearances

Sizes

STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
