ACL Race main bearings for Ford Modular 5.4 use a tri-metal construction developed for demanding high-RPM conditions. The set provides precise crankshaft support and reliable bearing retention in the housing.
The bearing geometry includes increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assist with the formation of hydrodynamic oil films. Tight, consistent wall tolerances help maintain consistent clearances.
- Tri-metal construction: high-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties
- Increased crush: for improved bearing retention
- No flash plating on the back: for improved heat transfer and grip between the bearing and housing
- Increased eccentricity: to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM
- 3/4-grooved main bearings: to optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the conrod bearings
- Tight, consistent wall tolerances: to help maintain consistent clearances
Suitable for: Ford Mustang V (S197).
Engines: Modular 5.4 (5.4LSUPERCHARGED). Please check your vehicle’s engine code (registration document or VIN) before ordering; if in doubt, contact us and we will check for you.
Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
