ACL Race main bearings are trimetal engine bearings designed to withstand higher RPM conditions. Their construction combines a high-strength overlay plate, improved retention in the housing and consistent wall tolerances.
The main bearings feature 3/4 grooves to optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the conrod bearings. Increased eccentricity helps compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assists in forming hydrodynamic oil films.
- Trimetal construction with a high-strength overlay plate of reduced thickness
- Increased crush for improved bearing retention in the housing
- Elimination of flash plating on the back for improved heat transfer and grip in the housing
- 3/4 grooves to optimize load-carrying surface area and oil flow
- Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM
- Tight, consistent wall tolerances to maintain consistent clearances

Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
