ACL Race rod bearings are trimetal engine bearings designed for engines operating at higher RPM. Their combination of design, metallurgy and engineering is intended for demanding performance use.
This rod bearing set features the ACL Race Series construction, with improved retention in the housing, increased eccentricity and design details that support efficient heat transfer.
- Overlay plate: high-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties.
- Steel backs: hardened steel backs on all rod bearings to improve support of the bearing lining and assist with retention in the housing.
- Retention: increased crush for improved bearing retention.
- Heat transfer: elimination of flash plating on the back to improve heat transfer and maximize grip between the bearing and its housing.
- Eccentricity: increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assist in forming hydrodynamic oil films.

Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
