ACL Race Series tri-metal rod bearings are designed for demanding operating conditions at higher RPM. Their combination of design, metallurgy and engineering improves support for the bearing lining and bearing retention in the housing.
This set is suited to performance engine builds where consistent clearances, heat transfer and the formation of a hydrodynamic oil film are important.
- High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties.
- Hardened steel backs for improved support of the bearing lining and bearing retention in the housing.
- Increased crush for improved bearing retention.
- No flash plating on the back for improved heat transfer and increased grip between the bearing and its housing.
- Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assist in forming hydrodynamic oil films.
- 3/4 grooved main bearings to optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the rod bearings.

Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
