BULL-X Exhausts produces downpipes to the highest standard, including this Bull-X stainless steel downpipe for AMG A45 and CLA45 models. The downpipe’s greater flow capacity provides increased performance, improved throttle response, lower exhaust gas temperatures and a sportier sound. It is suitable for both standard and tuned vehicles.

Road use: Only the version with the 300-cell HJS E6 sports catalytic converter and ECE approval is permitted for public-road use. All other versions, including those without a catalytic converter and those with 100-cell, 200-cell or Bull-X EOBD catalytic converters, are intended for track use only.

Note: The version with the 200-cell ECE HJS catalytic converter has a test mark without vehicle assignment for the Mercedes-AMG A45 and CLA45 models, and therefore has no road approval for these vehicles.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100-cell or 200-cell catalytic converter, the ECU may register a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not restrict vehicle operation because the first lambda sensor, which is used for engine management, remains fitted. The post-catalytic sensor is only responsible for monitoring catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by having the software recalibrated by an engine tuning specialist.

Most vehicles with an emissions standard up to Euro 3 do not have a post-catalytic lambda sensor, so installation is possible without further adjustment or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher washcoat content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4, while their durability and use are suitable up to the Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points described above can only be avoided by selecting an ECE-approved catalytic converter.
