Bull-X 3″ downpipe for Audi S3 8L/TT 8N quattro, 210/225 PS

BULL-X Exhausts produces downpipes to a very high standard. This is a 3-inch downpipe for the Audi S3 8L with 210/225 PS and Audi TT 8N 1.8T models with 225 PS.

Would you like to achieve more power from your turbocharged engine and reduce the load on the turbocharger? A Bull-X product is an excellent place to start. The downpipe plays an important role in exhaust gas flow and performance. It forms the link between the turbocharger and the exhaust system. The larger pipe diameter allows the turbocharger to discharge the processed exhaust gases more easily through the exhaust system, with a positive effect on torque and power.

If the engine management light comes on after installation, the ECU software must be adjusted.

Advantages:

• the turbocharger can discharge exhaust gases more easily, resulting in increased power;
• more torque, as the turbocharger reaches speed more quickly and is not slowed down as much;
• lower exhaust gas temperatures, reducing the load on the exhaust manifold and turbocharger;
• also available with a sports catalytic converter.

Catalytic converter information: When choosing a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100-cell or 200-cell catalytic converter, the ECU may register a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect drivability, as the first lambda sensor responsible for engine management remains in place. The post-catalytic-converter sensor only monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adjusting the software by a specialist in engine electronics.

Most vehicles complying with the Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor, so installation is possible without further adjustment or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a significantly higher washcoat content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are specified up to the Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the issues described above can only be avoided by selecting an ECE-approved catalytic converter.

Road use: This product and the available versions are not approved for use on public roads and are intended for motorsport use only. Legal road use requires a downpipe version with an EG-approved HJS catalytic converter; versions with other catalytic converters or without a catalytic converter are intended exclusively for racing use.
