Bull-X 3″ downpipe for Mercedes A200/A250 W176, CLA200/CLA250 C117

The downpipe is suitable for both standard and performance-upgraded vehicles. Fitting can provide increased power, improved throttle response and lower exhaust gas temperatures.

Road use: This product is not approved for use on public roads and is intended for motorsport use only. For legal road use, only the HJS catalytic converter with EG approval is permitted; all other catalytic converter versions are intended exclusively for racing use.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100/200-cell catalytic converter, the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor may trigger a fault message in the ECU. This does not restrict driving, as the first lambda sensor responsible for engine management remains in place. The post-catalytic sensor is used only to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by having the software adapted by a tuning specialist.

Most vehicles up to the Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic lambda sensor, allowing installation without further adaptation or a fault message.

HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher washcoat content and very high oxygen storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this issue up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are also suitable up to the Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points mentioned above can only be avoided by selecting a catalytic converter with ECE approval.
