Bull-X 3″ downpipe for Mercedes C63/C63S AMG 4.0T (W205)

BULL-X Exhausts produces high-quality downpipes. This two-piece Bull-X stainless steel downpipe includes a 200-cell sports catalytic converter for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

The downpipe’s greater flow capacity provides increased power, improved throttle response, lower exhaust gas temperatures and a sportier exhaust note. It is suitable for both standard and tuned vehicles. Fitting the downpipe can additionally deliver increased performance, improved response and reduced exhaust gas temperatures.

Road use: This 200-cell catalytic converter version is intended for track use unless an HJS catalytic converter with EG approval is selected. For public-road use, only a combination with the appropriate EG-approved HJS catalytic converter is permitted; all other versions are intended exclusively for racing use.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100/200-cell catalytic converter, the ECU may display a fault from the post-cat lambda sensor. This does not affect vehicle operation, as the first lambda sensor remains in place for engine management. The post-cat sensor only monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by having the software adjusted by a tuning specialist.

Most vehicles up to the Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-cat lambda sensor, allowing installation without further adjustment or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher washcoat content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are assured up to the Euro 6 emissions standard.

On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points mentioned above can only be avoided by selecting a catalytic converter with the appropriate ECE approval.
