Bull-X downpipe 89/76 mm for VW Polo 6R WRC 220 PS with ECE

BULL-X Exhausts produces downpipes to the highest standard, including this stainless steel downpipe for the VW Polo 6R WRC. It is suitable for both standard and performance-tuned vehicles. Fitting this downpipe can provide increased power, sharper throttle response and lower exhaust gas temperatures. Depending on the selected version, the engine electronics may require adjustment.

Road use: Only the version with the HJS catalytic converter with EG/ECE approval is suitable for road use. Versions without a catalytic converter and versions with a 100- or 200-cell sports catalytic converter are intended solely for track use.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100/200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may display a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect driving characteristics, as the first lambda sensor responsible for engine control remains fitted. The post-catalytic-converter sensor is used only to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adjusting the software.

Most vehicles meeting the Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic-converter sensor, so fitting is possible without further adjustment or a fault message.

The washcoat content of HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters is significantly higher, providing very high oxygen-storage capacity and helping to prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this application up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are specified up to the Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points mentioned above can only be avoided by selecting a catalytic converter with ECE approval.

The downpipe with ECE approval is fitted with a pre-catalytic converter and a main catalytic converter.
