Road use: ECE approval applies to the option “Bull-X Tronic control unit (with ECE approval)”. This version is intended for road use. Other versions or combinations not covered by this approval are intended for track use only.
While driving, you can select Comfort or Sport mode. If your vehicle has drive profile selection, the system can be controlled through it. On vehicles without drive profile selection, control is provided by the supplied button. The button’s LED indicates the current valve position: the valve is open when the light is off and closed when the light is on.
The control unit automatically closes the valve in all areas required by the ECE regulations, regardless of the selected driving mode.
In general, Bull-X Tronic offers two control options:
- Sport (Dynamic, Race): the valve is controlled within the limits permitted by the ECE regulations.
- Comfort mode: the valve is always closed, but opens while driving within the limits permitted by the ECE regulations when the throttle is 75% open.
Suitable for: BMW 3 VII (G20/G21/G80/G81).

Approval
Only the version marked “road legal” has a European ECE / EC approval (Bull-X Tronic controller with ECE or the HJS EC catalytic converter). Versions marked “no ECE, track use only” have no approval and are not permitted for road use. If in doubt about the version, contact us and we will check for you.
