The CNC-machined aluminium adapter set attaches to the factory valve cover of the 1.8T 20V engine and allows the use of longer ignition coils used on VW/Audi 2.0T FSI and TSI engines.
Upgrading to more modern ignition coils allows the use of a larger spark plug gap while maintaining a strong spark. Replacing older coils with newer technology can contribute to greater reliability, smoother idling, improved engine operation at low boost pressure and, in some cases, lower fuel consumption.

The adapters are designed for CTS-IGN-006 ignition coils.
On early 058 engines in the Audi A4 B5 and VW Passat B5 with AEB and ATW engine codes, an IE adapter wiring harness is required for operation. This allows removal of the factory ICM module and conversion of the ignition system to use the newer coil design. The wiring harness part number is IEDIYVA2.
