The billet aluminium adapter set attaches to the original valve cover of the 2.7T 30V engine and allows the use of longer ignition coils found on VW/Audi 2.0T FSI and TSI engines.
Upgrading to newer ignition coils allows a larger spark plug electrode gap while maintaining a strong spark. According to the manufacturer, replacing older coils with the newer design can improve reliability, smooth the idle, increase responsiveness or power outside the boost pressure range and, in some cases, improve fuel consumption.

Important
The adapters are designed for TSI coils (CTS-IGN-006) and require an IE adapter wiring harness to operate. They allow removal of the original ICM module and conversion of the ignition system for use with the newer ignition coil design. The suitable part is IEDIYVD2.
