The CTS Turbo intake system for the VW 1.8T MK4 uses the original air inlet in combination with a closed airbox that efficiently directs cold air into the intake system. The air then flows through a high-flow conical air filter with an inverted conical design for more efficient airflow into the engine.
The one-piece, CNC-bent aluminium heat shield with powder coating deflects heat and enables an uninterrupted supply of cold air to the engine. The system can provide a power increase of 6–9 hp, while all included parts are matched to each other to increase power and torque throughout the rev range and produce a more pronounced, race-inspired sound.
