EBC Racings’ RP‑X compound is an ultra‑high performance track and race pad designed for performance vehicles driven hard on track and for dedicated race cars. The RP‑X possesses a high friction level of 0.55 between 0 – 850°C and achieves 100% brake effect from cold. This makes RP-X an excellent choice for sprint racing or hill climb events, where full brake performance is essential without requiring any ‘warming up’, but also makes RP-X well suited to any type of circuit use where a high initial bite and powerful brake response is desirable. Compared to EBC’s RP‑1, the RP‑X has a 25% increase in friction coefficient across its working temperature range with a much more ‘positive’ initial bite. This characteristic potentially makes RP‑X more suitable on heavy or inherently under‑servoed vehicles. For light‑medium weight vehicles, cars without big brake kits fitted, or vehicles with no ABS, the less fierce nature track material may be preferable.
