This EGO-X exhaust system for the Škoda Octavia RS (with ECE*) is hand-built using TIG welding and consists of absorption silencers. The pipe diameter is 3.5 inches (89 mm). Its straight-through design delivers an extreme sound experience with the valve open. With the valve closed, the system is exceptionally quiet; during calm motorway driving, the interior is even quieter than with the standard system.

When the ECE version is selected, a Bull-X Tronic control unit is supplied. Pre-facelift models with 245 PS require the HGBXTSET-3 Bull-X Tronic control unit with ECE approval for MQB.evo pre-facelift, while facelift models with 265 PS require the HGBXTSET-5 Bull-X Tronic control unit with ECE approval for MQB evo facelift.
On vehicles with drive profile selection, the valve can be controlled through the Comfort or Sport profile. On vehicles without drive profile selection, control is provided by the supplied button. Its LED indicates the valve status: the light is off when the valve is open and illuminated when the valve is closed.
The Bull-X Tronic control unit provides two control modes:
- Sport (Dynamic, Race): while driving, the valve remains open within the limits of the ECE regulations. When stationary and at speeds of 20–80 km/h, the valve remains closed.
- Comfort: the valve remains closed and opens while driving, within the limits of the ECE regulations, from 75% throttle opening.
Road use: ECE approval applies only to the version with the Bull-X Tronic control unit with ECE approval and an EG-approved catalytic converter. This combination is intended for use on public roads. Versions with switch-operated or remote-controlled valve control, the Bull-X Tronic “Race” CAN-Bus control unit, and other catalytic-converter combinations are intended for track use only.

Only the version marked “road legal” has a European ECE / EC approval (Bull-X Tronic controller with ECE or the HJS EC catalytic converter).
