EGO-X 3.5″ exhaust system for VW Golf 6 R 256/270 PS (ECE)

This EGO-X exhaust system for the VW Golf 6 R is hand-built using TIG welding and features absorption silencers without chambers. The pipe diameter is 3.5 inches (89 mm).

Exhaust valve control

On vehicles with drive-profile selection, the valve can be controlled via the selected drive profile. On vehicles without this function, control is provided by the supplied switch. The switch’s LED indicates the valve position: the valve is open when the light is off and closed when the light is on.

The Bull-X Tronic control unit provides two operating modes:

• Sport (Dynamic, Race): within the limits of the ECE regulations, the valve remains open while driving and closed when the vehicle is stationary.
• Comfort: the valve remains closed and opens while driving, within the permitted ECE operating range, once the throttle is 75% open.

Road use: ECE approval applies only when the Bull-X Tronic control unit with ECE approval is selected and used together with an EG-approved catalytic converter. All other control and catalytic-converter options are intended exclusively for track use.

Suitable for: VW Golf VI (5K1).

Only the version marked “road legal” has a European ECE / EC approval (Bull-X Tronic controller with ECE or the HJS EC catalytic converter).
