This EGO-X exhaust system for the VW Golf 8 GTI / Clubsport / Edition 45 is hand-built using TIG welding, with absorption-type silencers. The system is non-resonated and has no front or centre silencer, providing an emphatic sound with the valve open.

Note: For the Clubsport/Edition 45, we recommend the 126 × 94 Carbon or stainless-steel exhaust tip version, as it fills the OEM cut-out perfectly and harmoniously. These versions are not suitable for the 245 PS GTI.

Electric exhaust valve. SBS motor included.
While driving, you can choose between Comfort and Sport mode. If the vehicle has drive profile selection, the valve can be controlled through this system. For vehicles without drive profile selection, control is provided by the supplied button. Its LED indicates the valve status: the light is off when the valve is open and on when it is closed.
The Bull-X Tronic control unit provides two control options:
- Within the range permitted by the ECE approval, the valve is always open. It is also open when stationary, as this system does not exceed the stationary noise level stated in the vehicle documents with the valve open. Between 20 and 80 km/h, the valve is always closed.
- Comfort mode: the valve is always closed, but opens during driving within the ECE-approved range from 75% throttle opening.
For the version without ECE approval, the valve can be controlled via a switch, remote control or Bull-X Tronic »Race« CAN bus control unit. If the vehicle has drive profile selection or a Sport button, it can also be used for control. Vehicles without drive profile selection use the supplied button.
If the Bull-X Tronic control unit is fitted, the valve can still be opened while stationary, while the control unit regulates it during driving in accordance with ECE requirements. The available modes are Sport (Dynamic, Race) and Comfort, in which the valve opens from 75% throttle opening.
Road use: ECE approval applies only to the combination with the Bull-X Tronic control unit with ECE approval and an EG-approved catalytic converter. Other control units and/or catalytic converters are intended exclusively for track use.
Suitable for: VW Golf VIII (CD1).

Only the version marked “road legal” has a European ECE / EC approval (Bull-X Tronic controller with ECE or the HJS EC catalytic converter).
