This part replaces the OEM pipe with part number 5WA 145 840D.
FMDP1 is a direct replacement kit for the undersized original discharge pipe for the 2.0 TSI EVO4 engine. With the growing popularity of next-generation EVO4 engine modifications, Forge Motorsport developed a high-flow discharge pipe to complement their FMINT24 racing intercooler. The pipe outlet measures 76 mm, so it perfectly matches the performance intercooler’s inlet connection and improves flow and volume compared with the restrictive OEM plastic pipe.
More power means higher boost pressure, so removing restrictions in the charge air system is essential. When inspecting the original system, Forge Motorsport found that both the rigid pipe and the original rubber hoses could be improved. Using 3D scanning and CAD design, a product with a high level of precision and quality was created.
The Forge Motorsport development team tested various designs for several months and ultimately chose a formed aluminium pipe with mandrel bending. The internal diameter is increased from 63 mm to 76 mm, providing a 21% larger cross-sectional area from the turbocharger outlet to the connection at the hot side of the intercooler. The hoses included in the DP1 kit are made from four-ply silicone with a fluoro lining. The kit is secured in place with a specially designed billet aluminium bracket.
This design allows it to handle higher boost pressures and provides more efficient airflow, while the pipe is more durable than the factory part and less prone to failure and material fatigue.
When combined with the FMINT24 intercooler, the stated results are typically up to 6–7 hp and 10 Nm of torque, depending on the existing modifications and level of software tuning. The kit has a discreet appearance with a matt black powder-coated finish and black silicone hoses, retaining an OEM+ look in the engine bay.
