The Forge Motorsport intake system for Ford Fiesta ST180 includes a large, high-flow pleated Ram Air filter made from synthetic nanofibres, providing effective filtration and improved airflow into the engine. The filter has a larger filtering surface than the standard filter and many competing products. The mass airflow sensor (MAF) housing is CNC-machined at Forge’s facility in Gloucester and is slightly tapered on the inside, providing the maximum possible airflow while replicating the standard design and reducing the possibility of the engine warning light coming on.
A laser-cut and powder-coated aluminium heat shield is also included and is fitted beneath the filter. It directs air around the filter, which enters the engine bay through the bonnet latch crossmember.
During testing, in combination with an engine software remap, we achieved an increase of up to 11 bhp. An engine software remap is generally required to make full use of the improved airflow. The filter kit can also be installed in combination with our silicone intake hose.
