The Forge Motorsport intercooler for the RS3 8V chassis builds on the successful solution for the older RS3 8P chassis. The core is designed for more efficient charge-air cooling and more stable operation during everyday driving and in vehicles with a software upgrade.

The RS3 8V intercooler uses a large 640 × 250 × 100 mm bar-and-plate core. Compared with the original intercooler, it offers a 55% larger surface area and 94% greater volume, increasing it from 8.2 l to 16 l. The end tanks have integrated pipes, allowing the original boost hoses to be used. It is also compatible with the Forge Motorsport boost hose kit FMKT024.

The kit includes an original Audi RS3 bumper bracket adapted for installation of the larger core. The bracket and core are protected with a standard black structural powder coating for long-lasting durability.

In a test on a vehicle without any other modifications, the standard car achieved 362 bhp, while the maximum intake air temperature was 58 °C. With the intercooler installed, the same vehicle achieved 386 bhp, while the maximum intake air temperature was 23 °C. This means an increase of 24 bhp and a temperature reduction of 35 °C. Results may be even more pronounced on vehicles with a software upgrade, as the standard core begins to reach its limits at Stage 1.

The kit includes detailed installation instructions; installation takes approximately 3.5 hours, and all parts required for fitting are included. For vehicles with adaptive cruise control, an additional billet bracket with mounting hardware is available for relocating the ACC radar. Re-coding the unit should not be necessary.
