Hand-built in the UK, this intercooler is designed for Mercedes-Benz X-Class X350 vehicles. In engines with high torque and increased boost pressure, the original plastic intercooler side chambers can quickly crack under load, causing boost air leaks and taking the vehicle out of service.
Forge Motorsport has upgraded the original intercooler with a core that is 137% larger and has 8% greater surface area. This helps to reduce engine and intake air temperatures even at higher boost pressure. The reinforced side chambers further reduce the risk of failure caused by cracking.
The intercooler was independently tested in cooperation with Avon Tuning, which specialises in Mercedes-Benz X-Class optimisation. Testing showed an improvement of 15 bhp and a reduction in intake air temperature of up to 22 °C compared with the original intercooler. It is available with a textured black powder coating.
